This family of small outboard-powered wheelhouse cruisers just keeps on growing. Hot on the heels of the 7.50 HB launched last winter, here comes the Antares 5.80 outboard as a replacement for the 6.20 HB. This range-entry model (alongside the 6.50 HB and 7.50 HB) offers a serious alternative to the Open hull by delivering the greater comfort and accommodation required for year-round enjoyment.
With a hull designed by the Beneteau design team and the overall look created by Sarrazin Design, the Antares 5.80 Outboard offers all the famous Antares features:
- a deep, modular cockpit for fishing and cruising,
- lots of room to move around the boat safely and plenty of grab rails in all the right places,
- sliding wheelhouse door, and
- extremely seaworthy hull
The Outboard propulsion (up to 100 HP) delivers high performance with sharp handling, and makes the boat easy to transport and launch. The cockpit is simple, but functional: the bench seat has removable sections to create more space and a backrest hinged to allow for lifting the outboard engine. On deck, the port side deck is wider for ease of access. The opening hatch in the wheelhouse roof provides excellent ventilation.
The ergonomic helm station with driver’s seat, instrument panel, compass and sport steering wheel is to starboard. Behind the driver’s seat is a galley area featuring a sink with manual water pump and a small hob. To port, the saloon offers a table and two facing seats. The bow compartment features a double berth and storage space.
