The new model of the Flybridge Collection of Azimut Yachts is a 16-metre motor yacht devoted to the sun and the open-air life, thanks to the exceptional features of the flybridge and the stern bathing platform.
The dinette that has been added to the saloon on the main deck and the extraordinary galley, incomparable for its surfaces and luminosity, place the Azimut 48 at the top of its category and – what means more – at the top of the list of boat owners that want an elegant and functional boat.
Sun worship has ancient origins and has travelled through history and civilisation, diffusing throughout the world. Today, Azimut Yachts offers it in a modern key, with a model of the Flybridge Collection completely devoted to the open-air life, which is called the new Azimut 48, an innovative boat in its concept with slim lines. The golden ratio between the height of the side and the dimensions of the superstructure give the Azimut 48 a profile that marries equilibrium with a sleek design, a decidedly uncommon dynamic perfection.
Devotion to the sun is fully expressed on the large flybridge. Large dimensions and surprisingly well-equipped, the flybridge of the Azimut 48 offers a dinette with a divan across the whole beam that can accommodate six persons sitting. The dinette has a functional centre table that is an authentic piece of versatility; in the base there is space for a refrigerator, a storage compartment and a drawer for galley equipment, whilst in the support surface is an integrated barbecue hotplate. The ample seating stretches towards the stern and becomes a spacious sunbathing area that flanks the pilot’s console.
The driving position on the flybridge is positioned to port. Apart from the continuity between divan and sunpad, this choice offers a further advantage of better lateral visibility and also from the stern towards the companion hatch of the stairs. The more open field of view assists navigation and permits mooring manoeuvres in greater safety.
Descending to the main deck, a large and wide cockpit welcomes you, completely protected by the flybridge and to be enjoyed at any moment of the day. It is an area dedicated to comfort and equipped with functional solutions that make life onboard more gratifying and comfortable. The comfortable divan that seats four persons, for example, hides the access to the large stern locker, so large that it can be transformed into a crew cabin complete with private WC. A minibar can be installed underneath the sofa.
The rest of the bridge confirms the solar and marine vocation of the 48. At the stern, the up&down bathing platform with a load capacity of 410 kgs permits housing the tender. And it is also a perfect private beach, ideal to appreciate moments anchored in roadstead and to climb back into the boat after a refreshing dive in the water. At the bow is another terrace overlooking the sea. Wide and square to increase the volume of the master cabin, the bow has a large sunbathing area for two persons. It is a place of total comfort, thanks to the slight angle of the cushions and the muscular shape of the hull that protects sunbathers from the spray during navigation.
The three areas for open-air socialising on the main deck (cockpit, the small beach and the bow sunbathing area) offer space for privacy and enjoyment and are perfectly connected together.
The large walkways and the high handrails in steel facilitate movements from one zone to another in safety. To these three areas is added the magnificent interior saloon, fitted with a “C”-shaped sofa and folding table that is height adjustable for a more flexible use of the space, for day living, as a lounge or as a lunch zone. On request, the divan section can accommodate a pull-out double bed. The height of the table can be adjusted electrically.
On the opposite side is space for another sofa, or a large piece of additional furniture that can be chosen by the boat owner, which increases the storage space that is already satisfyingly large, thanks to lockers hidden underneath the “C”-shaped sofa.
The luminosity of the saloon floods the eyes but cannot distract the attention away from one of the elements that distinguish the Azimut 48. Separated from the saloon is a fantastic dinette with two sofas for four persons and a small folding table. The presence of this space offers an alternative area of conviviality to the saloon, ideal also for following the navigation alongside the pilot, who can control the yacht from the helm station with double seating on a divanette and ergonomic instrumentation with a 16:9 monitor screen.
The copresence of saloon and dinette on the main deck would be enough to place the Azimut 48 in a superior category, but the surprises do not stop here! Descend the access stairway to the lower deck to encounter one of the most beautiful zones on the nautical panorama of this dimension. The galley is a large environment illuminated directly by the windscreen and here again the Azimut 48 confirms its special relationship with the sun. Impressive and incomparable in its category for luminosity and surfaces, the galley includes a large pantry, a work surface, steel sink, three-ring hob, hood, microwave, 190-litre refrigerator, dishwasher compartment and under the flooring is further space for storage.
Finally, beneath decks are three comfortable cabins, all with twin beds and two bathrooms with separate showers of 90 cms diameter. The VIP cabin, to starboard has two twin beds that simply slide together to make a double. The guest cabin, to port is identical to the VIP cabin and has twin beds. Both cabins are illuminated by new rectangular, three-segment, panoramic windows, whilst natural ventilation is ensured by a porthole that can be opened.
The ship owner’s cabin is in the bow. Luminosity is ensured by rectangular windows in the bulwark with a porthole that can be opened. Comfort and a refined and contemporary style make the cabin a relaxing place to rest in. The innovative layout amplifies surfaces and volumes, giving plenty of height. The storage spaces are maximised with two maximum-height wardrobes with the pull-out opening of the matrimonial bed perfect for stowing away larger suitcases. The private bathroom is very elegant with mirrored sliding doors that hide useful wall-fitted cabinets and washbasins in cognac coloured cold glass.
