The brand new Squadron is first exhibited on the Southampton´s Boat show as the replacement for highly appreciated Squadron 65 which ceased production in September 2002 following a successful run of eighty-two, and the recognition as Fairline´s 10,000th boat. Her side-profil follows the unique dynamic shape of the bigest Squadron model, which instantaneously reveals authors of the project. Regarding concept, she also relies on the same model by overtaking many practical novelties of the Squadron 74. She is intended for long-range cruises, complete comfort for which is ensured on all three levels. Adequately shaded by the long flybridge overhang, the cavernous cockpit, large enough to accommodate freestanding furniture, provides the perfect refuge from midday sun when entertaining al fresco. But, only when high above the waterline on the flybridge can the sheer scale of this magnificent craft be fully appreciated, particularly behind the commanding position of her upper helm with its tinted wraparound windscreen. This “big yacht feel” is reinforced by the service corridor. Entered by either the cockpit or via steps leading down from the transom door, it enables convenient access to the vast hydraulically powered transom garage, crew cabins and engine bay. Hand-crafted using the finest materials from stern to bow, her palatial interior exudes a splendour. An open plan saloon contributes to the seemingly expansive feel, while an array of spectacular features such as the Birdseye maple bureau amidships in the Master stateroom and whirlpool bath en suite, illustrate a level of luxury, which abounds. With a choice of engine packages the Fairline Squadron 66 is a fast but comfortable passage maker, with top speed of up to 35 knots.
