Morgan 55 Fast Commuter

The new 17 meter 55 Fast Commuter yacht is the latest novelty of Morgan Yachts and the entry level model of the range of Fast Commuters. It reinterprets the classic motor yacht which was used by New York tycoons between the end of the 1800s and WW II to commute from Manhattan to Long Island.

The Morgan 55 Fast Commuter reinterprets classic elements, turning them into a contemporary experience. With its unique style, meets the wishes of the boat owners who search for a classic vessel with great sailing characteristics, technology, and high performance whilst being practical and functional.

It is a 17 meter vessel in which the essence of beauty is perfectly adapted to the contemporary living comfort and sportiness of a high performance vessel from both a planning and technological point of view. This Fast Commuter is for the boat owner who expresses his passion for the sea in timeless sailing on board a real icon.

The design of the vessel is entrusted to the Morgan Style Center directed by Marco Mannino, whilst the hull was designed by the Tom Fexas Studio.
The Morgan 55 Fast Commuter, also available in the Fly version, repeats the so-called “flair” concept, the design of the bow keel flare which endows the Morgan Fast Commuters with an unmistakable shape.

In keeping with the Morgan philosophy, also, the new model is characterized by a distinctive care in the interior design, thanks to the wise use of the details adopted in the flagship of the range, the 93 Fast Commuter.

The Morgan 55 has two MAN 800 Hp engines which allow it to reach a cruising speed of 28 knots and a maximum speed of 35 knots.

OPEN SPACES
Once on board one is enveloped by the charm and old world atmosphere of the Morgan 55 right from the cockpit. Characterized by an ample U-shaped sofa and a dining table, the exterior cockpit together with the bow sunbathing deck is the ideal place to experience the sea in total comfort in the company of one’s guests, and to delight in a sailing experience where quality and excellence are predominant.

The cockpit also can also be completely covered from the sun thanks to the retractable shade which can be extracted from the roof, in order to enjoy the outside area at all hours of the day.

In addition, the cockpit accesses the crew cabin with ensuite bathroom and washer-drier and, upon request, the stairs leading to the upper bridge which can be equipped with a second console and has two spacious sunbathing decks.

THE LIVING AREA
Passing through the door which separates the cockpit from the centrally located living area, one enters the deck area, characterized by the use of wood and by precious décor finishings which serve to underline the stylistic purity of the vessel.

The living area is characterized on the left by a comfortable L-shaped sofa around a dining table which can comfortably accommodate 8 persons, by a spacious wooden cabinet with drawers, LCD TV and hi-fi stereo system. On the right the galley area is strategically positioned to be accessible to both the living area and the external cockpit. One of the two openable windows at the sides of the entrance in fact, can be used as a small serving hatch between the inside and outside galley. The inside galley has a sink, dishwasher, fridge and oven while the outside galley has a grill, sink and freezer.

Past the kitchen, before the stairs which lead to the sleeping quarters, the helm station is equipped with the most modern instruments available.

THE SLEEPING QUARTERS
The entrance to the living area, the stairs which lead to the sleeping quarters and the corridor below deck all follow an imaginary straight line which goes from stern to bow without any visual obstacles in order to create continuity of space, ideally open environments and essentialness of line which all come together to guarantee the right privacy and independence whilst enhancing the livability.

Going down the stairs leads to the sleeping quarters where comfort and classic design combine in the expression of the family feeling of the entire Morgan range.

Along the corridor, on the right as well as on the left, are the two guest cabins available both with twin beds or a king size bed and wardrobes followed by their private bath on the left. Further along is the bow master cabin. A spacious chest of drawers placed under the double bed, two roomy wardrobes and a lot of other small storage spaces take advantage of all the internal spaces of this cabin, emphasizing the excellent esthetic-functional solutions which characterize every part of the Morgan 55 Fast Commuter. This cabin also offers the boat owner a private bath with a comfortable separate shower.
