She has been presented in 1997, as a successor of the model 382 SR-1. Powerboat magazine announced her boat of the year in the Offshore category (Hot Boat magazine gave the same prestigious title to the 382 SR-1 in 1994). The same as models 312 and 353, 382 FAS3Tech has new fibreglass structural grid, permanently connected to the hull. It maximises solidity and stiffness of the hull´s sides, bottom and a deck. In order to adjust hull to Thunderbird requirements, company works directly with the fibreglass manufacturer on a construction of own triaxial fibreglass. All that enables 382 FASTech to effortlessly overpower waves in full speed.
