40 knots at full throttle and 20 when cruising for full tank range of 130 nautical miles is what can be expected from new, 24 ft long Formula 240 Bowrider, designed by architect John Adams. She´s attractive due to her aerodynamic, solid built deep-V hull with flattened aft running surface, curved windscreen with a low profile and dual-position twin bucket seating. Thanks to solid hull construction, 240BR plans in just few seconds without excessive bow lifting. Her acceleration and tracking are excellent. She softly absorbs when rides in the chop, without subsequent vibrations and unpleasant perpendicular movements. Skipper´s seat is comfortable, owing to slide and swivel adjustments as well as backrest that provides enough side-support. Adjustable Dino steering wheel, engine controls and trim switch are placed in a standard way, together with digital depth sounder and compass. Cockpit offer plenty of space, quite enough for five to six persons (including skipper). All cockpit weather-resistant seats are made of non-absorbent foam so they are always dry. Bimini for sun protection is optional. Icebox and storage are situated under the port seat. The engine room is accessed via an motorized hatch (optional) making quick pre-launch checks and light maintenance, with an additional storage for the table. Extended integrated swim platform is covered with rough non-skid layer and has concealed telescopic boarding ladder. Relatively large cabin on port side is satisfying as a changing room and comprises portable toilet (marine toilet is optional). Anyway, better comfort should not be expected, because 240 BR is Formula´s entry level boat primarily intended for weekend sporting activities on the water. Imron graphic and wakeboard tower enhances sporting appearance of the boat that, powered with 320-hp Volvo 5.7 OSXi Sterndrive, easily develops the already mentioned number of 40 knots.
