290 SS belongs to the category of sportboats intended for a day´s trips or weekend outings, since her large and comfortable cockpit does not leave too much room for a forward cabin. 290 SS is a brand-new boat as a replacement for the 280 SS with additional weight and little less transom deadrise, for ensuring solid handling in all water conditions. Although the concept is the same, the 290 SS has been completely reconstructed from the bow to the stern.
Quality designed cabin interior offers basic accommodation for two to three persons. V-shaped dinette converts into a double berth by lowering of the table and adding filler cushions. In spite of the limited cabin area, the accommodation is very functional with the entertainment center and molded private head compartment (porcelain head unit, 22-gallon holding tank and dockside pumpout, molded vanity, sink with faucet, mirror, Corian countertop and American Cherry wood-grain finish flooring). The Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo features two cabin speakers, with additional controls and speakers in the cockpit and transom.
As opposed to cabin, beautiful designed cockpit is very spacious. It comprises double individually-adjustable helm seat, portside double bench seat/lounge and an U-shaped sofa with a table and wet bar (integrated sink, Corian countertop, 17-quart Igloo cooler, trash container and integral 316L stainless steel saftey rail) in the aft part. Dual-height table with filler cushion converts sofa into a massive sun pad. 290 SS comes with twin engine installation. Engine packages from MerCruiser and Volvo offer a range of power and speed to suit every boater.
