The new S235 Cuddy is a neat follow-up to the Sundowner 215 that won a 2012 European Boat of the Year and overall Croatian Boat of the Year Awards, and it follows the same formula. This model meets basic requirements – speed, safety and functional utilisation of cockpit space, adequate for receiving bigger number of passengers. Stable Vee hull with lateral reinforcements, equipped with suitable engine, will successfully reach quite distant destinations.
Her size allows transportation on a trailer which considerably decreases maintenance costs. Navigation is smooth and stable thanks to Stable Vee hull design. The Stable Vee is a modified-V hull with extended running surface and well-positioned structural reinforcements. The hull remains remarkably solid and steady even in beam rollers. Since the dead-rise changes over the length of the running surface, the Stable Vee attacks the water much like a deep-V hull, yet offers the smooth, stable ride characteristics of a less aggressive surface design. Turns are flat, crisp and predictable. Forward strakes and reverse chines allow the running surface to confidently track through the water with little evidence of slide or skid, even in sharp turns. All these characteristics ensure additional stability and safety, as well as good performances and quick planing. Regarding their category, both vessels are comfortable in every way, due to the long standard features list and rational interior plan that can satisfy most needs - in the cuddy cabin, as well as in the practical cockpit.
Her cuddy cabin features a pair of facing side-seats that convert to a V-berth, while can accommodate two to three persons over night. There’s some stowage on rails along the cabin perimeter, and lots of natural light from a round hatch and slit windows in the foredeck. Cockpit layout follows previous models’ concept (swim platform, full sundeck, aft L-shaped seating and two helm seats) and has enough room for up to ten passengers. If customer decides an optional handy wet bar with sink and portable head, excursion undertaken with this boat can prolong to few days of wandering from one bay to another, without paying visits to crowded marines. In this case, restricted cabin space, suitable for two adults and perhaps yet another, younger, family member, has to be taken into consideration. Additional convenience is small weight and dimensions that enable transportation on a trailer.
