Monterey Boats has unveiled its largest boat, the 415 Sport Yacht, powered with Volvo’s Inboard Propulsion System (IPS). The 415 is one of the first models of any boat manufacturer to be designed around Volvo’s propulsion system.
The 415SY is brimming with standard features and amenities. Starting with the helm, you’ll notice a sophisticated grey gelcoated dash, complete with IPS joystick control. Ergonomically-designed with full instrumentation and fog resistant gauges with low-glare night lighting, the 415’s helm also has a striking black steering wheel with silver insert, electronic steering control and weatherproof, lighted switches.
The engine compartment is gel coated. The electrically-actuated engine hatch is easily accessible, and leads you to lighting inside the engine compartment along with an automatic fire extinguisher system for added safety. Continuing with the hull and deck you’ll find stainless steel hardware throughout; a foredeck sun pad with drink holders and grab rails; an extended swim platform complete with a telescoping recessed ladder, hatch, transom shower and walk thru door at the transom; a bonded-in skylight with tempered tinted glass; and port/starboard windshield wipers.
Luxurious seating appointments and room for the entire crew starts in the cockpit. The helm seat has a flip-up thigh rise and folding armrest, while the U-shaped lounge aft offers a sun island feature with storage below. Forward, you’ll find an L-shaped lounge seating area with a chase lounge and contoured backrest for added comfort. Entertaining above deck is a breeze with a concealed flip-out cockpit table with hinged stainless steel pedestal for easy stowaway, a wet bar with solid surface insert, sink, faucet, storage and refrigerator. This yacht also offers remote control access via the dash or aft remote for the premium stereo package with CD player and MP3 adaptor. And come nightfall, the entertaining can continue with overhead lighting mounted underneath the boats hard top.
No detail was overlooked down below. The cabin of the 415 comes with a cherry wood trim package, synthetic wood flooring, laydown carpet, wood mini-blinds, lighting and there’s even a wine chiller for added convenience.
Two staterooms book end the vessel. The forward stateroom with privacy door has an island berth with a quilted mattress cover and storage below, roomy storage cabinets with doors, two cedar-lined hanging lockers, solid surface vanity tops and added drawer storage. The aft stateroom also has a privacy door and offers twin berths complete with filler cushions and storage below.
And with two staterooms, comes two heads. One located aft with convenient access from the aft stateroom and one forward with easy access from both the forward stateroom and salon. Both bathrooms offer an enclosed fiberglass head module with Vac-u-Flush marine heads complete with holding tank, indicator and pump out deck fitting, mirrored vanity storage, a sink with faucet and counter tops with solid surface inserts/storage.
The 415’s salon/dinette features a sofa with a sleeper conversion for additions to the guest list, a solid wood table with dedicated storage and an incredible entertainment system housing a state-of-the-art LG 5.1 surround sound home theater system with DVD player, five speakers plus a sub woofer, a 26” flat screen LCD TV and Sirius satellite stereo package.
Nearly any meal can be prepared with the amenities in the galley. Storage is accessible via the upper and lower cabinets. The galley, with its molded fiberglass countertop with solid surface insert, also features a dual burner electric stove, microwave, stainless steel sink, designer faucet, coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer combo and a convenient trash receptacle. Additional standard features include a dual zone air conditioner and a six-gallon water heater with an engine heat exchanger.
Options on the 415 include a remote controlled spotlight, teak swim platform inlay, underwater lights, auto pilot, snap-in carpet, an available electric stainless steel grill, a Vetus bow thruster for easy docking/ close quarters maneuvering, and two additional 15” flat screen LCD TVs located in the forward stateroom and mid cabin.
