Producing good sports cruisers means not only overtaking new-fashioned trends and completing projects with authentic personal touch, but also their adjusting to harmony of human dimension for as good as possible social relations between crew members and sojourn aboard in general. Regardless of the fact that Salpa´s boats do not belong to top luxurious boats, but rather to group of vessels affordable to wider range of boaters, seriousness of such approach is evident from attention put into every segment constituting leisure vessel, which also resulted in the shipyard becoming one of the first awarded quality certificate ISO 9002. Italian shipyard Nautica Salpa is specialised in sports cruisers from 20 to 40 feet. Surviving for almost twenty years on such a demanding market as Italian and in category of boats in which competition is the fiercest possible, at the same time managing to sustain independence from giant corporation which, as soon as spotting worthy competition, try to "swallow" it, means that leading people at Salpa have found the key to success. Formula is only seemingly very simple – quality and safety of each boat should be offered at acceptable price with wealthy list of standard equipment.
The A-mar & Co. presented for Slovenian and Croatian market the flagship of the Naple shipyard Salpa, new Laver 38.5. She is 12,01 metres long and 3,84 metres wide, while interior has six berths. Dynamic design indicates she is sports cruiser with enviable performances that will be able to develop maximum speed of 39 knots, when powered by dual Volvo engines KAD 300/DP. Since she is the biggest ship of the Laver series, designers put considerable effort to make this boat worthy of her rang, by adding many details that are found on bigger vessels. Thus, stern has bayboat storage above which is spacious sunbed, while boat is equipped with both external and internal galley. Cockpit is towered by aggressive-looking radar arch that contains convertible top which can cover whole cockpit. Deck, cockpit and stern platform are teak-laid, while boat is accessible through retractable pulpit. Interior is divided in three parts. Bow has owner´s cabin with perpendicularly positioned berth, central part is a saloon with semi-circular settee, galley and head, while under cockpit are placed two double cabins. Shipyard grants 10-year warranty for this cruiser´s hull and structural changes, 2-year warranty for an engine or according to manufacturer´s specification.
