DutchCat Twelve is the latest concept for a yacht that doubles as a second home. This customizable multihull takes full advantage of the space aboard to accommodate up to six guests in a two or three cabin layout with an impressive cabin height of 2.1 meters. At 2.2 meters, the saloon offers even more headroom and is a full four meters wide. The layout also includes a custom galley and the choice between one or two fully equipped heads. Interior materials and finishes can also be customized according to the owner’s style.
The DutchCatTwelve is 12.55 m (41ft) in length and 4.9 m (16ft) wide, and her hull is made of a lightweight but sturdy composite that has been optimized for efficiency. The low drag hull is particularly important for the Comfort version of the boat which comes with the option of a 100% electric or electric hybrid motor. Equipped with two 10kW electric motors and a 48 kW battery pack, the electric version requires only 6kW of energy to cruise at 6 knots, meaning that it can run all day. A Sport version of the boat with twin 3-cylinder, 29 hp diesel motors will power the DutchCat Twelve to speeds of up to 22 knots.
