Grand Soleil 40

Discreet design of balanced lines, accompanied by high-level quality of workmanship and racing performances are main characteristics of the racer-cruiser Grand Soleil 40. This sailing boat had managed to win Sardinia Cup at her premiere presentation and in 2001 had IMS Mediterranean championship in own class. With this model Italian shipyard steadfastly keeps step with world tendency of manufacturing comfortable boats which dimensions enable successful participation in regattas organised according to IMS rating that, at the same time, possess sufficient comfort for snug cruises. This project´s parameters are semi-displacement, reduced wetted area, extended water line, efficient sail plan, ergonomic cockpit and hydrodynamic performances of the keel and rudder that are almost identical to those of the true racing sailing boats. Standard interior consists of three staterooms and one head, while owner´s version comprises two staterooms and two heads of which aft one has separate shower booth. Since recently, available is totally racing version with 600 kilogrammes lighter hull built with SCRIMP technology, carbon mast, boom and spinnaker pole. Whole deck equipment is made by Harken, without teak in a cockpit and with separable aft cubicles. This pleasure costs some thirty thousands Euros more than "normal" racing version.
