The Albatross 40 ´Panoramic’ is designed to provide more comfort for cruising sailors, families and charter companies.
The philosophy behind the design stems from a deck level panoramic saloon linking better the cockpit and saloon area as one, a design feature not normally typical on yachts of this size and more alike to larger yacht arrangements. The advantage of this arrangement includes large comfortable guest cabins below deck, a deck level saloon with panoramic views offering protection from the elements and a good navigation area, a separate engine room and a huge amount of lazarette stowage.
On deck, the yacht is designed with 2 comfortable helm positions aft, a large protected cockpit area for guests and a foredeck solarium. Access around the yacht is comfortable and protected with low bulwarks and stanchions offering good security for all onboard. In addition, cluttering of the deck with a tender or davits is eliminated with the transom tender garage, a detail not commonly found on 40’ yachts.
Intended as a cruising yacht, early investigations indicate a comfortable yacht with good all-round performance. Fitted with twin rudders, the yacht will maintain good control even when in a blow and adventurous seas. Under engine, the Albatross 40 is designed for a comfortable cruising speed of 8 knots.
In summary, a comfortable cruising sailing yacht with many interior options, sleeping up to 8 and offering a good platform for cruising or chartering.
