Bavaria Cruiser 40

The new Bavaria Cruiser 40 (12,35 m) is a part of the current, innovative Cruiser range, which Bavaria started in April 2009 with the launch of the flagship, the Cruiser 55. The new hull and deck concepts together with the large cockpit sporting a dual control console give this new craft the appearance of a thoroughly modern cruiser-sailer. The cockpit has a transom hatch that lowers to the bathing platform and features plenty of room to work and to sit comfortably for relaxed sailing. As the design has made a major step forward, Farr Yacht Design has significantly improved the sailing performance and handling characteristics.

The Cruiser 40 is available in a three-cabin version only, with a spacious owner´s cabin with en-suite bathroom. The interior is available in three wood choices and there are 12 different upholstery combinations and materials. Numerous hatches and windows have been provided, creating spacious, bright interiors and offering excellent ventilation. The chart table has also a new design. The aft cabins and the enlarged head provide more storage space and improved ventilation.

The standard and easy to handle main-sheet-system, combined with 6 winches in the cockpit, offers pure sailing pleasure even for shorthanded sailing. The mainsail is featuring a „Split Bridle System“, which means that the main is trimmed without the use of a traveler – it is simply controlled by the powerful vang and the easy and efficient sheeting. The sail area displacement ratio for the Cruiser 40 is 4,42, which means she is located in the category for ambitious Cruising yachts.
