Bente 24

Two passionate small-boat sailors and a bunch of design students that have never before set foot on a sailing boat – an unusual constellation for developing a new model. But as a matter of fact Stefan Boden, sailor and film-maker, and Alexander Vrolijk, naval architect of yacht design studio judel/vrolijk & co, are about to launch a completely new type of 24-foot yacht.

Even before the first hull of the Bente 24 will touch water in spring 2015, the recently founded brand has a (hi)story of which some long-established yacht builders dream. While searching for the perfect modern, small-sized boat on which family, friends and most importantly their girlfriends would have a comfortable-yet-fast experience on the water, a crazy idea soon developed into a unique dynamic. Via social networking, Boden and Vrolijk gathered ideas as to what an ultimate beginner’s boat should absolutely include. They got an incredible amount of attention and responses. The group of design students was involved in the project to add innovative out-of-the box ideas. The constant goal: Keep it simple and affordable. The result: A brand-new 24-foot cruiser with a unique and refreshing layout that should become available for what has been announced as an extraordinarily low price.

The successful presentation of the prototype during the boat show “boot” in January 2015 made it clear that probably a lot of friends (and girlfriends!) would like to untie the lines of their Bente 24 one day.
