If there is one name that symbolises French know-how when it comes to modern boats, it is Dufour. This year Dufour Yachts introduces two new models for the 2013 model year. They mark a major step in the development of the Grand’Large range. These designs represent how Dufour Yachts is leading the development of production yacht design and manufacturing.
Introduced at the 2012 Cannes International Boat Show in September, the new Dufour 500 GL however pushes attention to detail much further, with an unusual piece of equipment considering the size and price of the boat: a swing anchor roller, winder and ropes concealed beneath the deck, modularity of all the interior fittings… Its design is exceptional in how it redistributes the use of space, offering everyone a unique feeling of freedom and volume on board.
There are many ways to configure the cockpit for sailing and entertaining comfort. The main cabin utilizes space like no other production boat has dared to. The layout may look unorthodox but once you spend time on board you start to see that this is a major step forward, one that no other production builder has done.
