There are many models of various types of anchors of different shapes and quality on the market. Only the patented Wemar tandem anchor system is different by design: it solves the problem of anchoring systematically and comprehensively. This is no longer just an anchor, but a system of two anchors that enable much greater holding power. Why?
● Using two anchors logically enables at least double holding power.
● In fact, because of mutual effects, holding power could be up to three times greater.
● Different construction of anchors enables setting up in the widest variety of substrates and bottom configurations.
The ABYC (American Boat and The Yacht Council) recommends keeping at least two anchors and one spare on board. The first one is used for normal anchoring in normal conditions (working anchor), and the other is intended for use in severe weather conditions (storm anchor).
The Wemar Tandem Anchor System offers both anchors in one: a working, tandem anchor and main, heavier anchor. Connected together in a system, they enable even higher holding power. Since the weight of anchors is distributed in two parts, the load on anchor windlass is substantially lower than using a dedicated storm anchor.
