The latest Australian-made Coursemaster CM85i autopilot with intelligent, self-tuning software comes in a compact, waterproof, 110 x 110 mm controller case to match existing instruments. The simplicity of the automatic set up of the pilot is only one of the key features of this intelligent pilot that offers all the requirements for shorthanded cruising or sailing: a dodge feature, interface with GPS, autotack, automatic trim, and 1 and 10 degree course change control at a single touch. The CM85i autopilot is suitable for both sailing and powerboats 6m – 40 m in length, is available with a wide choice of drive options, and backed by Coursemaster´s 30-year reputation for tough, reliable autopilots.
The CM85i autopilot offers simple one-touch control, intelligent, self-tuning software and rate gyro compass:
- Large graphic display: rudder angle, backlit LCD with wide viewing angle, on-screen display of GPS information in a compact, waterproof 110 x 110mm case
- Intelligent, self-tuning software: automatically adjusts for speed, sea conditions and trim
- Interfaces: GPS, wind instruments, digital compass information
- Autotack, autogybe with adjustable angle
- Rate Gyro Compass: accurate courseholding, reduced fuel consumption, performance stability
- Auto/manual compass calibrations
- Drive options: linear, hydraulic, rotary, solenoid

The rate gyro compass maximises autopilot performance and minimises the effects of acceleration, roll and pitch. The combination of these two features means that the autopilot is able to steer a more accurate course with less rudder movement resulting in lower power consumption and less wear and tear on the vessel´s steering system. Simple to operate, the CM85i offers skippers the convenience and reliability of an extra hand on the helm.
