The new Furuno hardware, TZ Touch, is the next generation in its NavNet range and is Furuno's first model with Touchscreen technology. Available in two stylish and simple to operate models, NavNet TZ Touch comprises either a 9-inch or 14.1-inch multi-touch full glass, LED backlit and bonded widescreen display. The clean and stylish installation coupled with great brightness puts these displays in a class of their own. A black box version which can utilise larger touch screens will be released in 2013. The new hardware is fully compatible with the award winning NN3D range of displays and uses Furuno's high definition digital sensors.
TZ Touch has four modes of user interface - the primary being touch. TZ Touch is the marine industry's first multi-touch and touch gesture equipped technology. Featuring pinch-to-zoom capability, two finger course rotation, multi- and single-touch gestures for the most intuitive user-interface on the market today. For users of the current generation of touchscreen smartphones and tablets the look and feel of the new Furuno TZ Touch will be very familiar.
You can also control TZ Touch via traditional means using the trademark Furuno Roto Key rotary knob for adjustments to range and gain or to access multiple menu selections. Additionally connect a standard USB mouse to the display to enable system control without leaving your helm chair.
Leading the market in technology, TZ Touch is engineered to utilise the latest in WiFi connectivity with built-in wireless features. TZ Touch has two free Apple iOS applications (Android available in the future) providing full control of your system using the "NavNet Remote" app and viewing only via the "NavNet Viewer" app from your mobile Apple device.
