Garmin GPSMAP 720/740
Technical details
Producer: Garmin (CH)

With their extra-wide panoramic displays, these affordable systems bring fully menu-driven touchscreen control and radar interface to a compact standalone chartplotter format. All at a great value price that's easy to justify for any boat or budget. Ideal for small to mid-sized vessels, the GPSMAP® 700 is a standalone device that does not offer support for the Garmin Marine Network.

Featuring sleek 7-inch WVGA color displays and built-in high-sensitivity GPS receivers, Garmin’s robust 700 series plotters offer unprecedented extremes of brightness for daytime readability with super low-level dimming for optimum night vision.

The GPSMAP 720 and 740 models come with a built-in digital elevation model (DEM) worldwide basemap, which can easily be upgraded with optional BlueChart® g2 or g2 Vision® cards for expanded coverage of specific regions. In addition to its digital basemap, the Garmin GPSMAP 740 model also comes preloaded with detailed offshore maps for all U.S. coastal areas, including Alaska and Hawaii, plus the Bahamas. And by simply plugging in an optional BlueChart g2 Vision card (sold separately), you can upgrade to such premium features as high-resolution satellite imagery, Auto Guidance, aerial reference photos, and true 3D visual map perspective — with both MarinerEye and FishEye views.
