Because large motor yachts frequently offer no rear view from the steering position, a reversing camera is required. The picture from this unit can then be displayed on a monitor at the helm. Further cameras can keep an eye on the engine room, aft and side decks and provide a panoramic view from the mast. These locations can be surveilled also from the crew quarters or the master cabin, for example, by fitting additional monitors there. The cameras from VEI even have a night vision capability.
