Sea-Fire – FireStop Integrated Marine Fire System
Technical details
Producer: Sea-Fire Marine (USA)

The worldwide leader in fire suppression technology, Sea-Fire Marine takes onboard safety to the next level with its advanced FireStop Integrated Marine Fire System. The innovative management system monitors cylinder pressure, heat, smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) for early fire detection. It also offers state-of-the-art fire extinguisher supervision, as well as engine and machinery shutdown. In the event of a fire, the location is conveniently identified on the new Zone Identification Panel (ZIP) via a LED light and alarm.

At the heart of the FireStop Integrated Marine Fire System, the microprocessor Control Unit features 7 relays for simultaneous management of onboard equipment, including engines, generators and ventilation systems. With two inputs for monitoring Sea-Fire H Series Fire Extinguishing Systems (view news 1181), the programmable unit can detect discharge and low pressure. A discharge event will trigger the engine and machinery shutdown function. Equipment can be restarted by pressing the reset button on any of the display panels.

For security, the Control Unit is powered by two independent battery banks and each input is monitored for failure. Designed as a modular system, it can be expanded to provide maximum protection for a wide range of applications.

Adapter Units can be employed to add detection zones on larger craft. Increasing the system by 4 zones each, the units can be connected directly to the Control Unit. If more than 16 zones need to be monitored, then additional ZIPs can be added. Via RJ45 sockets, they report smoke and heat detector status to the ZIP.
The FireStop Integrated Marine Fire System was designed to be used with marine-grade Hochiki CDX detectors. Chosen for their accuracy, reliability and aesthetic appeal, the primary devices include a photoelectric smoke detector and a combined ROR (rate of rise)/fixed 60°C heat detector. A Manual Call Point is also available as an emergency option, pushing the bottom triggers the alarm bell.

Providing an easy plug´n´play installation, the intuitive Display Panel and ZIP are connected to the system by CAT5 data cables. Both provide the user with system control and alarm status, as well as open and short circuit fault monitoring. The ZIP features customizable zone legends and up to two ZIPs can be fitted to the FireStop Integrated Marine Fire System.

The Display Panel is ideal if there are only 2 detection zones or if there is a requirement for multiple displays throughout the boat. Up to four of these attractive, weatherproof units can be fitted to the system.

Operating at 12/24V DC, the FireStop Integrated Marine Fire System from Sea-Fire Marine can also be used to monitor bilge alarms, CO detectors or security zones with an additional interface unit.
