Producer: Scanstrut (UK)

The new Self-Levelling Radar Mount ensures that radar stays level with the horizon at all times for optimum antenna performance. As the boat heels or rolls, the radar is kept horizontal preventing target loss and giving the best possible radar picture.
Chancing upon one of the rare rain-free days this month, the Scanstrut team were able to witness their new Self-Levelling Radar Mount in action on the water, after a hassle-free installation, onboard a brand new Hallberg Rassy 342.
Highlighting the new product’s high-quality design and functionality, owner Colin Drummond said, “I am delighted with the installation, it is a very neat design and blends in well with the look of my boat. Out on the water, it also has proven to be very well damped, keeping the radome level with the horizon at all times”. This will undoubtedly stand Colin in good stead during his upcoming Azores and Back race!
Electronics installer Mike Abraham from Falmouth based Skywave Marine commented on the product’s ease of installation, “It really is so simple to mount, under two hours in fact, with only one man needed for the majority of the installation. A brilliant concept and design – we are already getting a lot of interest from other boat owners on the marina”.
The installation follows huge interest from dealers, OEMs and the general boating public since the product’s launch at METS 2006 and on London Boat Show.
Launched in a Backstay Mounted version, the system will also be available with mast and pole mounting options later in the year. The product will be on display at a number of worldwide boat.
