Due to admix of ethanol in fuel, can accrue under certain conditions a high explosive gas. This gas can be easily ignite through the tank ventilation, this situation will gernerate an explosion in the fuel tank.
The universal flame arrester is a protection system for fuel systems and fuel tanks, especially developed for the maritime area. The flame protection is installed in the tank ventilation system and prevents to ignate fuel vapors in explosive areas.
