A maintenance free axial propellor sealing system, specially developed for water lubricated propellor shaft assemblies. No stuffing box, no greased cotton sealing rings or lip seals. This mechanical sealing system consists of a carbon cuff, a stainless steel rotor and a rubber sleeve. This carbon cuff is attached to the stern tube by the rubber sleeve. The elasticity of this sleeve allows the carbon cuff to be pressed against the stainless steel rotor. Due to the permanent contact of the carbon cuff with the stainless steel ring, the sealing surface remains very smooth providing perfect sealing. The TMF Front Mechanical Seal is available in 20, 30, 35 and 40 mm. (Allpa B.V.)
