Extremely abrasion-resistant, easily positioned and replaced – these are the characteristic features of the removable protective sleeve from Gleistein Ropes. PowerGuard is the name of this product from the German ropemaker and is particularly effective in spliced eyes and wherever damaging sharp or rough edges may be encountered, whether ashore or aboard. PowerGuard is designed to protect the mooring lines of larger vessels.
Simple, rapid installation
Mooring lines are designed for the tremendous loads that can affect them in wind and waves. Even the strongest rope however can be damaged and weakened by a sharp edge. To help avoid this, Gleistein Ropes has developed the PowerGuard removable protective sleeve; a finely woven and rubberised polyester which surrounds the rope like a cuff. A wide and extra strong Velcro fastening system keeps PowerGuard in place, assisted by four eyelets with securing lines. Extremely simple and rapid installation is possible and the service life of the ropes can be markedly increased.
PowerGuard is available in the lengths 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 metres. It is suitable for mooring lines of 24, 32, 40 and 48 millimetres in diameter.
